The fire
The fire burned brightly
For a while
The result flames licked the sky
It burned up all the fuel it could consume
All were heated by the fire
The red hot embers brightly burned
But a sudden gust of wind
Blew the fire out
All that remains are ashes
Grey and cold
No warmth, no life
Nothing
Just darkness and despair
The cold is creeping in
The warmth has gone
As if it had never been.
